IC Nexus, a leading provider of ARM® embedded solutions, announced the release of the VPC series in-vehicle computers. The VPC is a series communication gateway designed for in-vehicle applications. With a powerful NXP i.MX6 ARM Cortex application processor and Linux/Android OS, the VPC is not only a 3G/4G router or tracker but also a communication platform that allows users to design and deploy custom software for various applications.

The VPC takes advantage of the NXP i.MX6's high-performance capabilities, the ublox GPS receiver, and a 3G/4G modem for a wide range of vehicle applications.

The new products are scheduled for shipment in the fourth quarter, 2016.

In order to provide a more friendly bus environment for citizens, the Taichung City Government Department of Transportation has decided to test run LCD e-bus bus stop stands at Mitsukoshi Department Store & Chung Yo Department Store respectively. In contrast to the past LED bus stop stands which only display information in text form, the LCD e-bus stands are lively and diverse, contain texts, pictures and audio.

The LCD e-bus stands are especially designed for outdoor with high luminance and does not experience glare problems under the sun. It is able to display the estimated time of arrival for four bus routes simultaneously, improving readability by the public. Furthermore, the independent LCD e-bus bus stop stands not only displays eight bus routes at once but is also equipped with touch screen that allows the public to make enquiries on bus fare.

The Department of Transportation plans to install indoor Smart display at all train stations and major public places in Taichung City as an initiative to provide the estimated time of arrival of buses to the public. Thereby allowing bus information services to expand to the passenger’s starting point, providing all-around public transportation services. In collaboration with BRT being in commission, the Taichung City public transportation services is heading into a new era.

為提供市民更友善的公車搭乘環境，台中市政府交通局在公車站首創LCD式智慧型公車站牌，分別在新光三越及中友百貨，試辦附掛式LCD智慧型站牌及獨立式LCD智慧型站牌，讓站牌「公車到站」資訊更迅速，除了文字，還有圖片和影像，未來會視試辦狀況再擴大實施。

交通局試辦更新式的智慧型站牌，分別在新光三越及中友百貨設置附掛式LCD智慧型站牌及獨立式LCD智慧型站牌，局長林良泰指出，和過去LED站牌單純顯示文字資訊不同，LCD式智慧型公車站牌 有文字圖像和影音，活潑多元。其中LCD式智慧型站牌以戶外高亮度方式設計，無大太陽下反光問題，並可一次可顯示4條公車預估到站資訊，提高民眾閱讀性；另獨立式LCD智慧型站牌，除一次可顯示8條路線外，並增加觸控螢幕，並可提供民眾查詢公車票價。

林良泰表示，交通局預計今年再增加智慧型站牌，並規劃在臺中市境內所有火車站及主要公共場所，安裝室內智慧型看板，主動提升公車預估到站資訊予民眾，讓本市公車資訊服務擴大到乘客起點，提供無所不在大眾運輸服務，另配合BRT通車，臺中市大眾運輸服務將邁向新紀元。
